Terms of Service
Last updated 24 September 2026
These terms cover your use of Patina Perfect — the website, the apps, and the QR codes that connect a car to its listing. Using the service means you accept them. They are written to be read, not to be impenetrable.
Who can use Patina Perfect
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract. You are responsible for everything done through your account, so keep your password to yourself. Tell us at hello@patinaperfect.com if you think someone else is using it.
Listing a vehicle
When you list a vehicle you are telling us, and every buyer who sees it, that:
•
You own the vehicle, or you are authorised by the owner to sell it.
•
What you have written is accurate to the best of your knowledge — the year, mileage, engine, title status and condition included.
•
The photos are of that vehicle, and are yours to post.
•
You are allowed to sell it where you are, and it is not stolen or subject to an undisclosed lien.
Describe known faults. A classic with honest rust described up front is a better listing than one that surprises a buyer in a driveway, and a listing we believe is deliberately misleading will be removed.
We are not part of the sale
This is the most important thing on this page. Patina Perfect is a place to advertise a vehicle and talk to people about it. We are not the buyer, not the seller, not an agent or broker for either, and not a party to any agreement you reach.
We do not inspect vehicles. We do not verify VINs, titles, mileage, ownership, liens or anything a seller tells you. We do not hold money, escrow funds or handle payment between you. Any money, paperwork or keys change hands entirely between you and the other person, on terms you agree between yourselves.
So: inspect the car. Meet in person. Check the title and the VIN against the vehicle in front of you. Never wire a deposit to someone you have not met, and be suspicious of anyone who pressures you toward a particular shipping company or payment method. If a deal goes wrong, it is between you and the other party.
What you may not do
•
List anything that is not a vehicle, or a vehicle you cannot lawfully sell.
•
Post someone else's photos, or anything you do not have the rights to.
•
Harass, threaten or abuse another person through messages.
•
Use the service to defraud anyone, or to move a conversation off-platform in order to.
•
Scrape, bulk-download or resell our data, or automate access without our permission.
•
Interfere with the service, or try to reach accounts and data that are not yours.
Messages
Messages between buyers and sellers stay inside Patina Perfect so nobody has to publish a phone number. We store them so conversations survive, and we may review a conversation where it is reported, where we are investigating fraud or abuse, or where the law requires it. We do not sell them and we do not read them for advertising.
QR codes
A QR code we generate points at your listing and nothing else. Print it, stick it in a windshield, put it on a decal — it is yours to use for your vehicle. Displaying it somewhere is your responsibility: follow the rules of whatever show, lot or event you are at. If a listing is deleted, its code stops resolving.
Your content
Your photos, descriptions and build notes stay yours. By posting them you give us permission to display, resize and distribute them for the purpose of running and promoting the service — showing your listing, generating previews when someone shares it, and similar. That permission ends when you delete the content, except where a copy survives in backups or where someone else has already shared it.
Fees
Listing is currently free. If we introduce charges we will say so clearly before anything is chargeable to you, and you will never be billed for something you have not agreed to.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, that we reasonably believe is being used for fraud, or that puts other people at risk. Where it is fair to do so we will tell you why.
No warranty
The service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that anything you read on it is accurate — including anything a seller has written about their vehicle. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Patina Perfect is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or loss arising from a transaction between users — including a vehicle that turns out not to be as described, a payment that goes astray, or a person who is not who they said they were. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the previous twelve months or one hundred US dollars.
Some places do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply to you only as far as that jurisdiction permits.
Indemnity
If a claim is brought against us because of something you posted, something you did on the service, or a transaction you were part of, you agree to cover our reasonable costs in defending it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and the state and federal courts located in Delaware have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
If you are a consumer, nothing here takes away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country or state where you live, and you may still bring a claim there where the law gives you that right.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will say so on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version.
